After receiving approval from the Israeli government, Nigeria's Air Peace has become the first airline in Nigeria to provide a direct flight from Nigeria to Israel. The maiden edition of the flight which demonstrated Air Peace's current expansion and strengthened intergovernmental relations was launched on the 20th of April, 2023.
The first Boeing 777-200ER operated by Air Peace, bearing the registration 5N-BVE, flew from Lagos to Tel Aviv on flight P4 7578. The flight departed Lagos Murtala Mohammed Airport at 7:12 and landed in Abuja at 8:05 at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. At 11:16, the plane took off, and at 21:51, it landed at Tel Aviv Ben-Gurion International Airport.
With a Boeing 777-200ER, Air Peace is providing about 548 weekly tickets
from Nigeria to Tel Aviv. Given the extra convenience it provides for Israelis
and Nigerians, this route is advantageous for Air Peace and its global network.
Previously, it would take 27 hours to fly between the two nations using other
planes and nations. With only one stop in Nigeria on a direct flight, travel
time is greatly reduced. Shorter flight times will also increase the
number of pilgrims traveling to Israel, strengthening Nigeria and Israel's
political, economic, and social connections.
Air Peace has recently launched flights to Tel Aviv, Mumbai International Airport, Maiduguri International Airport, Delhi, London, China, Senegal, and The Gambia. This comes after the airline recently began offering twice-weekly nonstop flights to Maiduguri International Airport and Mumbai International Airport. Air Peace has also added Delhi, London, China, Senegal, and The Gambia as new destinations.
