UK Announces Changes To Priority Services for Visa Applications

UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) has announced changes to its Priority Visa Services for new study and sponsored work applications, new visit visa applications, and family applications. These changes apply to a new study and sponsored work applications, new visit visa applications, and family applications.

Priority Visa (PV) and Super Priority Visa (SPV) applications for new study and sponsored work can now be pre-purchased online or at the Visa Application Center before submitting biometrics, according to UKVI. However, customers applying under the Start-Up, Innovator, or High-Potential Individual route as a dependent are still not eligible for priority service. Customers will be contacted by UKVI to downgrade their application to the standard service and inform them of the procedures for the return of the priority costs if they unintentionally paid for the priority service as a dependent in one of these categories during the online process.

Customers making dependent applications through qualifying employment and study routes cannot purchase SPV when scheduling appointments; however, they may do so when they arrive at the Visa Application Center for their appointment.

To process more standard applications faster and process more new visit visa applications, UKVI has decreased the number of PV appointments available for new visit visa applicants. PV and SPV appointments cannot be acquired retroactively, and SPV appointments for new visit applications will not decrease.

For applications for foreign family visas, UKVI has re-introduced PV services, which will be evaluated in 30 days or 6 weeks. Priority services are not offered everywhere for the $573 price. Customers should check with VFS Global to see if the service is available at their application center.
