Spain Opens Work Visa Opportunities For Foreigners

Spain has announced that it is experiencing an increase in job opportunities, with 143,868 available posts.

This is a huge growth over the previous year, especially in technology, healthcare, and hospitality industries. In these fields, there is a robust demand for experienced workers. Companies anticipate 140,517 job openings in the fourth quarter of 2022 in the services industry. This information is critical for visitors obtaining a work visa in Spain.

In March, the hospitality industry faced a labour shortfall, requiring roughly 60,000 additional workers. However, the tourism industry will employ three million people by the third quarter of 2023. Data analysts, computer engineers, renewable energy engineers, healthcare professionals, and technological specialists are driving national demand. Lower-skilled vocations in great demand include data analysts, computer engineers, big data and security IT technicians, renewable energy engineers, business intelligence experts, plumbers, bricklayers, Carpenters, nurses, healthcare assistants, and technical specialists.

Spain's autonomous regions have diverse occupational trends, with Andalusia focusing on tourism, healthcare, and technology, and Aragon on agriculture, logistics, and construction. High-demand occupations like healthcare, construction, transportation, agriculture, food industry, and healthcare are available in these regions. Foreigners in high-demand occupations have a better chance of receiving a Spanish work visa, than EU citizens. Spain offers various work visas, including Long-Term, Seasonal, Au Pair, EU Blue Card, and Self-Employed visas. Spain has a labour surplus in low-skilled occupations and state employment services, with a mismatch between job seekers and vacancies. Technology-based employment pays more, while hospitality-based employment pays less. Although Spain is not one of the most expensive nations to live in, living expenses are considerable. The developing job market in Spain offers opportunities for qualified professionals and lower-skilled individuals.
