Canada has announced the launch of the Post-Graduation Work
Permit Program (PGWPP) to attract talent from around the world and
develop a skilled workforce for innovation and economic growth, which extends
the duration of work permits for graduates of master's degree programs.
This initiative allows these graduates to launch their careers and potentially move toward permanent residency.
There have been substantial modifications made to the
Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWPP), particularly for master's degree
holders. The program facilitates the transition of international graduates from
recognized learning institutions into the Canadian workforce. It may even lead
to permanent residency by providing them with relevant job experience in the
nation. The revised rules now allow master's degree graduates who completed at
least eight months of study to be eligible for a three-year PGWP, even if their
program actually lasted less than two years. This modification recognizes the
important abilities and information that a master's degree provides.
The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)
website is still the application portal for the PGWPP, and applicants must
submit their applications online. The necessary paperwork includes a completed application form, proof of
graduation, a current study permit, evidence of language proficiency, and a
passport. IRCC workloads and unique
situations may affect processing delays. After obtaining the PGWP, candidates
can work for any employer in Canada, acquire useful experience, and submit an application for permanent residence. Go to the IRCC website to see
the most recent processing schedules.
