VFS Global has emphasized the significance of applying for
visas early To prevent traffic jams during peak season.
Travellers can now apply up to six months in advance thanks to the amendment to the Schengen Visa Code, which facilitates more efficient demand management. The tourism industry is seeing a notable resurgence in 2023, setting the pace at 82% of 2019 volumes with a 10% increase in visa applications. The country is also witnessing a surge in travel, with visa applications rising by 16% annually to 93% of pre-pandemic levels.
Vishal Jairath, Head of South Asia at VFS Global, predicts
that travel will be quite popular in 2023. Up until December, when outward
travel was at its peak, there was a constant flow of applications for visas.
Jairath projects that this pattern will hold till 2024. Travellers should apply
for visas well in advance to avoid last-minute crowds. It is recommended by VFS
Global to apply for visas at the same time as booking travel and
accommodations. By the new Schengen Visa Code, applications can
be submitted up to six months in advance and up to ninety days before departure.
With tourists continuing to express interest in foreign
vacation locations, the tourism industry is bullish for 2024. Applying for a
