China Eases Visa Application Processes With New Measures

China has announced the implementation of five new policies aimed at streamlining the visa application process for international visitors.

The overall effectiveness of China's visa policy will be improved by these steps, which are intended to increase the country's accessibility for travel, business, and education.

The five new policies aim to make it easier for foreigners to obtain a visa and increase accessibility for those coming to China for vacation, business, or education. Direct port visa application is now permitted for non-diplomatic objectives, such as formal business travel, visits, investments, or private concerns. Candidates must appear before the appropriate authorities with the required paperwork and an invitation letter. Eligible travellers are excluded from border inspection processes under the 24-hour visa-free transit policy at major hub airports, such as Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Beijing Capital International Airport. Visa extensions, renewals, and reissues for short-term travel, business, and family visits can now be completed immediately at public security agencies. The aforementioned steps are intended to facilitate the administrative procedures for those who have valid reasons to prolong their stay in China.

Foreign nationals in need of multiple-entry visas can now apply more easily by going via the exit-entry administrations of public security organizations in China. More freedom for frequent travel is made possible by this. The new law also permits short-term family visits or reunions to utilize a statement of kinship instead of official certificates, and it does away with the requirement for physical certificates for several visa categories. For those who must travel frequently, this provision provides more freedom.
