Thailand has announced the introduction of the Thailand
Traveller Safety Scheme, a comprehensive program designed to increase the
security and trust of tourists.
This program, which expires on August 31, provides up to $14,000 in medical coverage for guests in the event of an accident. This action is part of Thailand's comprehensive goal to revitalize the travel and tourist industry and guarantee the security and well-being of its foreign visitors. The program seeks to make travelling to the Land of Smiles worry-free.
The program's registration deadline is August 31, 2024, from January 1, 2024, to August 31, 2024. The plan does not include
carelessness, deliberate misconduct, unlawful activity, or dangerous conduct.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a decrease in Thailand's tourism sector, which
is mostly dependent on foreign tourists. Thailand hopes to bring in 35 million
tourists and $55 billion in income by 2024 to quicken its recovery.
The short-term goal of Thailand Traveller Safety (TTS) is to
increase travel throughout the recovery period. It pays for hospital stays, surgeries, and physician visits. But it doesn't cover mishaps
brought on by carelessness, malice, criminal activity, or reckless conduct.
Before travelling to Thailand, visitors can register on the TTS website or with
a tourist visa. TTS can be used by NIEM and the Tourist Police to determine if
visitors are eligible for aid. By Thailand's privacy rules, all
data is gathered in secret. Travellers can register for the program until August
31, 2024, and it will be available until then. It is advised to purchase
additional travel insurance for complete coverage above and beyond the plan's limits.
