The Canadian student visa application procedure has been revised to require applicants to submit a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) with their applications, and failure to comply with this new rule might lead to denial, especially for undergraduate, graduate diploma and graduate certificate programs. Only the Indian students have been exempted from the PAL requirement.
After successful completion of master's programs, graduates can then extend their work visa for three years, allowing them to explore any useful professional
experience and permanent residence.
However, spouses dreaming of open work permits will now have to include their partners' Master's or PhD programs in their applications.
In conclusion, international students aspiring to study in Canada must ensure they meet the PAL requirements, while master's students will become beneficiaries of a longer post-study work permit.
Spouses whose partners are masters or PhD students are the only ones who qualify for an open work permit.
