The federal government of Nigeria has vowed to reciprocate any step by the UK authority to frustrate Air Peace operations on the Lagos - London route as the Airline commences flights to the UK.
The Nigeria minister of aviation and aerospace development, Festus Keyamo stated this during an interview at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos before the maiden edition of Air Peace airline flight to London.
According to Keyamo, "If any country or airline introduces obstacles to frustrate Air Peace’s operations, then Nigeria too will introduce theirs."
"If any subtle obstacle to frustrate Air Peace is introduced by any country, Nigeria will also introduce theirs."
Air Peace commenced its Lagos - London flight operations on Saturday, March 30th, a month after it was announced that the carrier would commence operations in March end. The carrier has a daily flight schedule from Lagos Murtala Muhammed International Airport to London Gatwick Airport.
With this development, Nigerians now have the opportunity to book a home base direct flight to the UK at a low fare rate. It is also believed that the commencement of Air Peace services to London will create competition among the airlines and will lead to a reduction in the cost of airfares.
