Australia Releases New Rules To Work Temporarily After Graduation

Australia is becoming a more attractive study destination due to major changes to its Temporary Graduate Visa program, which includes an opportunity to work in the country after graduation. simplified visa categories, and expanded work visa opportunities for international students.

Australia's Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485) program will see major modifications to improve the assimilation of foreign students into the workforce, effective July 1, 2024.

International students who recently graduated from an Australian institution or college can apply for the Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485), which enables them to stay in Australia for a few years to pursue job experience.

Significant modifications have been made to the Graduate Work Stream and Post-study Work Stream of the Temporary Graduate Visa scheme.

Application deadlines for the Post-Vocational Education Work Stream will be July 1, 2024; however, Hong Kong or British National Overseas passport holders under 50 years of age will be exempt.

The Post-Vocational Education Work Stream is for graduates of associate's, diploma's, or trade credentials related to Australia's MLTSSL. The Post-Higher Education Work Stream is for graduates of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees.

Thanks to the Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (AI-ECTA), Indian students can now take advantage of extended employment privileges for up to three years for bachelor's degree holders and up to four years for PhD graduates. For bachelor's degrees, international students may stay for up to two years, and for doctoral degrees, for up to three years.

Australia is looking for students who are genuinely interested in learning and working, with an emphasis on developing skills and luring talent for positions that are in high demand. Applications are welcomed because of the opportunity for permanent residency, the real goal of the students, and the acquisition of useful skills. To establish that you are a student, you must have solid evidence.

Foreign students must now meet the requirements for visa eligibility with a minimum savings balance of A$29,710, or around €18,218 as Australia has reportedly tightened its rules for student visas;

The October 2023 rise in financial requirements was followed by a second increase in less than seven months with the most recent modification.

International students must comprehend Australia's adjustments since they are in line with a global trend in which educational systems are being reformed to better-fit immigration laws.

To ensure that your program fits both Australia's skill criteria and your career aspirations, proper findings on the latest visa requirements should be done/
