GERMANY WELCOMES SKILLED WORKERS AND STUDENTS WITH NEW RULES

Germany has made significant new visa rule changes, enhancing the ease of studying, working, and potentially settling for international students and skilled workers.

The new visa rules allow international students to arrive in Germany nine months early, work up to 20 hours per week, take language courses, prepare applications, and adjust to life. Students, particularly those from lower-income families, have seen their annual work limit increased from 120 to 140 full days, offering greater financial flexibility during their studies. Apprenticeship applicants in Germany can work up to 20 hours per week before and after training, with B1-level German proficiency and under 35 years old.

German university graduates can now stay up to 18 months after graduation to search for a job, facilitating a smoother transition from academics to the workforce. Graduates can easily change visas to EU Blue Card or German Skilled Worker Visa for career changes and apply for attractive permanent residency in Germany with two years of work experience. Germany faces a significant skilled worker shortage, with over 770,000 open positions across various sectors, including horticulture, wood, metalworking, and technical fields, offering promising career opportunities. New visa regulations make Germany attractive for international students and skilled workers seeking a vibrant economy, diverse job market, and potential permanent residency pathway.
