Canada Welcomes 6,500 New Applicants with Latest Express Entry Draw

In a recent Express Entry draw, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 6,500 foreigners to apply for permanent residency under the French language proficiency category. This is the first draw in 2025, highlighting Canada's commitment to promoting French language proficiency among its immigrant population.

The draw occurred on February 19, 2025, and a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 428 was required. A tie-breaking rule was also applied, and the tie-breaker took place on February 10, 2025, at 16:41:38 UTC.

To be eligible for Express Entry, applicants must demonstrate their English or French proficiency by completing an approved language test. They must also achieve the minimum scores required by their program and include the results in their Express Entry profile.

The Express Entry system is a points-based system that assesses and scores applicants' profiles based on their skills, education, language ability, work experience, and other factors. Every two weeks, the Canadian government holds selection events for Express Entry applicants, and invitations to apply to various programs may be issued through the Express Entry system round of invitations.

In a separate development, the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) recently held a selection process, issuing 646 invitations to applicants with a CRS score of 750. Through the PNP, individuals from other nations can apply for Canadian Permanent Resident status, which allows them to live, work, and reside in a certain province or territory.
