Poland Launches Digital Application Portal for Work Visas

Poland has introduced a new online registration system for work visa applications, making it easier and more efficient for applicants. As of June 26, 2024, all applications for Polish work visas must be submitted electronically through the
e-konsulat system.

The e-konsulat system simplifies the application process by requiring applicants to register online. Once registered, applicants participate in an electronic draw to secure an appointment slot at a designated Visa Application Centre. This new process replaces the previous methods of application submission.

A D-type national visa, specifically a work visa, permits the holder to stay in Poland for an extended period, typically exceeding 90 days, for employment purposes. This visa is intended for individuals who have secured employment in Poland and need to stay in the country for work. Holders of a D-Type visa can work and reside in Poland legally for the duration of the visa, with the possibility of applying for a residence permit if they plan to stay longer.

To use the e-konsulat system, applicants must visit the official e-Konsulat portal, create a personal account, fill out the online application form, and submit supporting documents, including proof of employment in Poland and a valid passport. The electronic draw system helps distribute appointment slots fairly, reducing applicants' wait times.

The transition to the e-konsulat system offers several advantages, including enhanced accessibility, reduced waiting times, and greater transparency. The automated process ensures a fair and transparent allocation of appointment slots.

Overall, the introduction of the e-Konsulat system marks a significant improvement in the work visa application process for those seeking employment opportunities in Poland.
