The global
evidence-based healthcare community is set to gather in the historic Italian
town of Taormina for the 11th EBHC International Conference, a landmark event
that will explore how artificial intelligence (AI) and digital innovation are
reshaping healthcare research, clinical practice and decision-making.
Scheduled to take
place from October 21 to 24,2026, the conference will be held jointly with the
11th Conference of the International Society for Evidence-Based Health Care
(ISEHC). Organisers say the event will bring together leading researchers,
clinicians, policymakers, educators and healthcare professionals from around
the world to examine the evolving role of AI across the evidence ecosystem.
Under the theme
of digital transformation, EBHC 2026 will focus on three key pillars of
evidence-based healthcare: evidence generation, evidence synthesis and evidence
translation. Discussions will explore how artificial intelligence is improving
the planning and execution of research, accelerating systematic reviews and
clinical guideline development, and supporting the implementation of evidence
into everyday healthcare practice to enhance patient outcomes.
The conference
programme features an extensive lineup of keynote presentations, plenary
sessions, workshops and parallel discussions led by internationally recognised
experts. Topics will include responsible AI in healthcare, automation in
evidence synthesis, implementation science, evidence-based medical education,
research integrity, health technology assessment, knowledge translation and
strategies for combating misinformation through evidence-informed
communication.
Beyond its
scientific programme, EBHC 2026 is designed to encourage collaboration and
professional networking. Delegates will have opportunities to exchange ideas,
establish research partnerships and engage in interactive workshops, while
enjoying the unique cultural and historical setting of Taormina on the Mediterranean
coast. Organisers describe the conference as a platform where innovation,
collaboration and practical solutions will converge to shape the future of
evidence-based healthcare.
Registration for
the conference is now open, with the abstract submission deadline set for February 28, 2026. Notifications of accepted abstracts were issued on March 31, 2026, while the deadline for full registration is September 30,
2026. The event is expected to attract participants from across academia, healthcare
institutions, government agencies and industry, reinforcing its reputation as
one of the world's leading forums for advancing evidence-based healthcare.
