British Airways has threatened up to 19,000 staff with dismissal notice except they accept worse pay and new conditions. According to report, The London based carrier has been burning heavy amount of money on daily basis due to most of its fleet being grounded and is now looking at a way to reduce costs.
In April, the carrier issued 188 letter to 3 unions representing more than 35,000 of its employee.
According to ITV News, the outlet has received letters that reveal plans for rehiring another set of workers with new terms and conditions as well as pay cut.
It was also stated that the new condition would allow BA to suspend staff for up to 6 weeks per year without being paid.
The airline industry is facing the deepest structural change in history as well as facing a severely weakened global economy.
