The airline claims the policy is the most comprehensive of all COVID-19 policy currently offered by other airlines. Virgin insurance is offered at no cost and has zero excess.
The coverage which will be valid for all Virgin Atlantic flights from Monday 24 August 2020 to March 2021 inclusive, applied automatically to all existing and new bookings and applies if customers become ill with COVID-19 while on a trip they fly with Virgin Atlantic.
The cover also extends to passengers flying on partner airlines metal like Delta or Air France/KLM, as long as they are traveling on a Virgin Atlantic issued ticket.
The carrier further emphasized that the insurance applies to COVID-19 only and would not replace a traditional travel policy.
