UAE National Day 2020

UAE National Day is an annual event, celebrated on 2 December each year in the United Arab Emirates. It is the celebration of the UAE’s formation on December 2, 1971.

This year's celebration will be the 49 annual national days of the UAE’s formation. It is an opportunity to recognize 49 years of unity between the seven emirates and to embrace the country’s spirit and values, headed by Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s first president.

The theme for this year's National Day celebrations which will be held in Abu Dhabi has been revealed to be "SEEDS OF THE UNION" by the UAE.

Emiratis and expatriates alike are all gearing up to mark the UAE National day with the spirit of solidarity. They are buying flags, decorating cars, offices shops, and buildings. Al Maktoum bridge is not left out as the flags are really flying high everywhere. What a colorful period.

The event may be a single day programme, falls on 2 December, but five days have been declared as public holidays to observe it. Immigration has also notified that there may be a slow down in responding to visa applications during the period.
