Ethiopia flag carrier and African leading airline, Ethiopian Airlines has commenced vaccinations of its staff against Covid-19. The airline has opened a temporary vaccination center equipped with the latest facilities for the service.
According to the carrier, the front-line workers with direct contact with passengers will be prioritized. Every employee will also get the second dose of the vaccine 4 weeks after taking the first one.
“I am happy to inform you that we have introduced COVID-19 vaccination for our staff. Safety is our main priority and vaccination of our staff will heighten the safety of our coworkers and passengers onboard and on ground. Vaccination of staff will increase passengers’ confidence to fly with us. We will continue to implement all required safety measures and the vaccination will supplement those preventive measures. This is a breakthrough in our fight against the COVID-19 and we hope to welcome our passengers with fully vaccinated staff in flight and on ground.” Says Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Mr. Tewolde GebreMariam.
However, Ethiopian has been applying safety actions to protect its customers, staff and partners. It sets up its own COVID-19 testing and isolation Centre for staff to prevent the spread of the virus and to ensure workers’ safety.
In conclusion, the airline has launched a high-end COVID-19 testing lab at its center point, Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, to renew the passengers’ business by creating a smooth travel experience which includes COVID-19 testing to passengers that are departing from Addis Ababa.
The carrier which has transported more than 27 million vaccines to over 24 countries says it will continue to transport COVID-19 vaccines all over the world.
