The UK Government has announced the lifting of quarantine restrictions for fully vaccinated travelers from the European Union countries and the United States.
Travelers who are fully vaccinated with the US and EU- approved vaccine will no longer be required to undergo a mandated 10-day quarantine after arriving in England but will still have to take a Covid-19 test before departure and a PCR test after arriving in England from the 2nd of August.
According to the UK transport secretary Grant Shapps, “we’ve taken great strides on our journey to reopen international travel and today is another important step. Whether you’re a family reuniting for the first time since the pandemic’s start or a business benefiting from increased trade, this is the progress we can all enjoy".
“We will of course continue to be guided by the latest scientific data but thanks to our world-leading domestic vaccination programme, we’re able to look to the future and start to rebuild key transatlantic routes with the US while further cementing ties with our European neighbors,” Shapps stated.
Meanwhile, visitors from France will still have to undergo quarantine upon arriving in the UK due to a new variant of Covid-19 in the country. The UK Government says.
