Emirates airline has announced that travelers with newly issued residence visas are not yet allowed to enter Dubai.
The airline disclosed this when responding to questions posted by netizens, saying UAE residents holding non-Dubai visas cannot land in Dubai airport (DXB).
According to the carrier, only Dubai visa holders with entry approval from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) can travel to Dubai.
“Only Dubai visa holders who have approval through the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), can travel to Dubai. Those holding a non-Dubai issued visa can't travel to Dubai.” It says
The airline noted that there is no update yet on when tourists can travel from India and Nigeria to Dubai. Stressing that only those holding Dubai residence visas can travel from India to Dubai. This information supersedes the earlier announcement that the borders would be opened to travelers from certain countries from 15, August 2021.
However, the airline encourages travelers to keep an eye on its official website for updates as 'the entry rules and travel guidelines can change anytime.'
Emirates also clarified that passengers with newly issued residence visas cannot travel to Dubai yet.
