The UK government has announced its plans to scrap all Covid-19 travel restrictions in order to boost the next Easter holidays.
According to the reports, all Covid-19 rules including passengers' locator form and testing may be get rid of under the new plans being considered by the government.
Currently, only vaccinated travelers are allowed to enter the UK without having to take a test, but the new rule may have both the testing and the locator form scrapped for the unvaccinated visitors also, the report says.
According to Michael O'Leary, the CEO of Ryanair "the changes were long overdue as the beleaguered travel industry recovers from the pandemic."
He added that “it’s a shambles. They should ditch it, it’s completely irrelevant. Nobody collects them, nobody checks them or follows up on them.
Travel industry association ABTA has also condemned the travel restrictions, saying that, "the system for collecting passengers' data is much more complex than that used by many other countries, and encourages the government to get people traveling again."
