Malta Lifts COVID Entrance Requirements Every Traveler

As of July 25, Malta will no longer impose COVID-19 entry restrictions on travelers. All travelers are now permitted to enter Malta for any reason, regardless of whether they hold a vaccination, recovery, or test certificate. The Maltese government's official travel website, Visit Malta, issued the announcement regarding the relaxation of the entry requirements.

The statement reads, "As from July 25, 2022, people traveling to Malta without a vaccine certificate or a recovery certificate do not need to present a negative PCR/Rapid Test before arriving in Malta."

As of June 30, Malta has administered 1,248,452 doses of vaccination. The World Health Organization reports that 3,425 new cases of coronavirus infection were discovered in Malta over the course of the previous week. Other than Malta, all of the COVID passport-free entrance restrictions have been eliminated in another 25 EU/Schengen nations. According to data from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Controls, as of June 30, Malta had administered 1,248,452 doses of vaccination.

Malta is the most recent member of the European Union (EU) to remove its COVID entry requirements, so visitors no longer need to provide proof of immunization, recovery, or testing when entering the nation.

Malta saw a significant increase in visitor numbers in May and marginally behind pre-pandemic levels. Given that most travelers had previously been hesitant to travel to Malta because of its restrictions, more people may decide to visit Malta in August now that the COVID entrance criteria have been relaxed.
