The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Call for Excellence Scholarships of the Government of Mexico for Foreigners 2022, is inviting foreigners who are interested in pursuing undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and postdoctoral research degrees in Mexico to apply for the fully-funded scholarship program.
According to the QS Best Cities for Students 2022, Mexico City and Monterrey rank among the top 100 cities for students. The National Autonomous University of Mexico, which is ranked 104 globally, has the best international ranking of any Mexican university. This scholarship program has participants from over 70 Mexican institutions and is open to citizens of more than 180 countries. Thirteen Mexican colleges—three of which are in the top 500—are included in the QS Universities Rankings' TOP 1000 list of global universities.
The available levels that can be applied online are, Bachelor’s, Master’s, Ph.D., Post-doctoral, and Research. The eligible fields include all fields taught in Mexico. The scholarship is fully funded, and about 180 countries can apply for it. This offer ends on July 24, 2022.
Candidates are chosen without consideration of religion, gender, age, disability, social standing, or any other factors that violate human dignity or are meant to abrogate or restrict people's rights and freedoms. But shall be based on the submission of the necessary documents; academic achievement; studies in social welfare; science and technology; sports; tourism; culture and education. Studies in social welfare, science, and technology, sports, tourism, culture and education, and humanitarian aid shall be considered.
The following advantages are available to successful candidates: A $588 monthly stipend is provided for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral-level research stays. The compensation amount for medical specialties and subspecialties, doctorate level, and postdoctoral research stays is $740. Accommodations, a waiver of registration fees, health insurance, a waiver of the expense of obtaining a Mexican visa, and payment for international and domestic air and ground transportation are all included.
The scholarship duration is a maximum of 24 months for undergraduates, 24 months for master's, and 36 months for Ph.D. Master's and postdoctoral research stays are limited to 12 months (minimum 1 month). Medical specialties and subspecialties may be studied for up to 36 months; high medical specialties may be reviewed for up to 12 months.
The University Cooperation Management System (SIGCA) (https://sigca.sre.gob.mx) will accept electronic applications for scholarships from the Mexican government.
Applicants should note that Spanish is required for application registration.
