Travelers Warned To Be Careful In France Over Another Covid-19 Surge

The French authority has warned that everyone should start observing Covid-19 protocols again as the deadly disease has resurfaced in the country.

Given the rise in COVID-19 infection cases in France, the government advised that everyone resume wearing face masks and observing other Covid-19 protocols. According to French authorities, nearly a thousand individuals who have the coronavirus are hospitalized daily. The authorities indicated that they made this suggestion because they believed that renewing the restrictions would discourage travelers.

Olivia Gregoire, a spokesperson for the French government, said that although French citizens are "sick of restrictions," their behavior will be responsible. The prime minister has advised that face masks be worn by everyone in public areas and on public transportation. France has had to deal with demonstrations regarding the new vaccine and mask regulations.

Officials are also thinking about enacting new regulations, like requiring indoor masks in some locations. However, it has been emphasized that even if some regulations are reinstated, they won't be stringent and won't stop economic growth.

According to data from the World Health Organization, 637,166 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in France over the past seven days. France recorded 242 COVID-related deaths within the same time frame. According to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), 91.9% of France's adult population has received all of the recommended vaccinations.

Because so many people are planning trips to France this summer, French tourism experts predict that this year's numbers of tourists entering the country will surpass those from the years before the pandemic. Bookings must be made in advance for visitors who want to travel to the Calanques region of southern France. Just 400 individuals will have access to the two well-known coves that are located on the coastline between Marseille and Cassis.
