Portugal has announced the lifting of all travel restrictions for all categories of travelers entering the country.
The announcement on the easing of entry requirements was made on Visit Portugal, Portugal's official tourism website. Travelers from all countries, whether they are residents of any European Union, or EU member state, or not, they are no longer required to follow any COVID or entry protocols while entering Portugal. The new rule has nullified entry restrictions. Arriving visitors will not be required to present a vaccination, recovery, or test certificate any longer.
Visit Portugal's statement stated that: “As of July 1, 2022, passengers entering national territory are no longer required to present proof of carrying out a test to screen for SARS-CoV-2 infection with a negative result or to present a COVID-EU digital certificate or vaccination or recovery certificate issued by third countries, accepted or recognized in Portugal.”
Portugal has eliminated all COVID-related entry requirements, so anyone can now enter the country without having received the necessary COVID vaccinations or COVID recovery treatments.
In order to use public transportation, taxis, and other forms of mobility in mainland Portugal, one must continue to wear a face mask, according to Visit Portugal. Along with Portugal, all entry limitations for COVID-19 have been lifted for 24 additional members of the European Union/European Economic Area.
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czechia, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, and Switzerland have joined the list of nations that have loosened entry restrictions for citizens of the EU and EEA. Travelers visiting France, Malta, the Netherlands, and Spain must still abide by the COVID019 entrance requirements.
