Brazilian health regulator ANVISA has declared the end of the nearly two-year-old requirement for face masks on airplanes. The new choice is heavily influenced by the immunization rate of South America's largest nation. Brazil has very strong COVID regulations in place, including forbidding passengers from eating while flying.
Azul LinhasAéreasBrasileiras swiftly declared that masks are no longer necessary on their flights. Jason Ward, Vice President of People and Customers, said;
“We are excited about the news because, thanks
to the advancement of vaccination efforts and the reduction of COVID-19 cases
throughout the entire country, air travel is returning to normal. The smiles of
our crew and our clients, which were previously hidden, will now be seen
onboard our flights.”
The reintroduction of its renowned in-flight
service was initially announced by Azul, a Brazilian airline. LATAM Brasil and
Aeroporto Internacional de So Paulo-Guarulhos made an announcement that masks
would no longer be required in their terminals. The airline has reopened the
showers at the Lounge Azul at VCP as well as Espaço Kids, a room with
kid-friendly activities. The Aeroporto Internacional de Viracopos (VCP) in Campinas
is where Azul is situated.
