Emirates and Philippines Airlines Enter a Codeshare Agreement

Emirates and Philippine Airlines (PAL) have announced a codeshare partnership to improve connectivity for passengers of both airlines to new points on each other's networks via Dubai and Manila, using a single ticket and one baggage policy.

Passengers of Emirates can travel via Manila to 19 domestic locations in the Philippines and two regional locations in Asia due to the bilateral interline agreement. In addition to connecting easily to 21 additional locations outside of Dubai, customers of Philippine Airlines also gain access to Emirates' extensive worldwide network. The Emirates and Philippine Airlines mobile apps, as well as both online and traditional travel agencies, accept reservations for travel itineraries.

"The Philippines is one of our strongest consumer markets, and we’re pleased to sign a new interline agreement with the country’s flag carrier. The partnership with Philippine Airlines will help open new links for trade and tourism that will drive more inbound traffic into the market and expand Emirates’ footprint in East Asia. We look forward to serving our partner airline’s customers with additional travel choices to Emirates destinations across the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas and to expanding our cooperation with plans to include additional points via Cebu in the coming months," Emirates' Chief Commercial Officer, Adnan Kazim, stated.

"We are happy to embark on this new interline partnership with Emirates that expands the choices available to Philippine Airlines passengers, who now gain easier access to more destinations across Europe, the Middle East, India, and Africa via our flights to Dubai. We are eager to expand our reach to various international markets and exciting destinations and help stimulate business and tourist travel for global citizens, as well as provide better service to our fellow Filipinos living and working in overseas nations," Bud Britanico, vice president of sales for Philippine Airlines, stated.

The flag carrier and full-service airline of the Philippines, Philippine Airlines (PAL), has the greatest global network. On August 7, 1982, it began providing service to Dubai, and it currently operates daily flights using Airbus A330 widebody aircraft between Manila and Dubai. Furthermore, PAL operates an extensive domestic network to 32 destinations in the Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao regions of the Philippines. Emirates started operating in Manila in 1990 and has since expanded its network to encompass 25 weekly flights to the nation's three gateways, offering clients award-winning service and industry-leading goods.
