Saudi Arabia Authority has announced that residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) can now apply for a visit visa which will allow them to perform Umrah and stay for up to 90 days.
After a prior requirement that restricted eligibility to specific occupations stated on the ministry website, the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Tourism declared that all residents with a residency ID (valid for at least three months) from any of the GCC countries can now apply for a visit visa to the Kingdom regardless of their profession.
“Pleased to announce any resident of the state is
eligible to apply for a tourist visa to the Kingdom, regardless of their
profession, and we are inviting those interested in applying through the link: http://visitsaudi.com/visa,” the Ministry of Tourism stated.
Visitors
may apply for a multiple-entry visa with a maximum stay duration of 90 days at a
time and multiple entries for a stay of up to 90 days. The holder of this visa
can make Umrah whenever they choose. Visitors may also apply for a
single-entry visa, which is suitable for up to 30 days and is valid for three
months from the date of issuance. The equivalent in SAR is $123, or a sum of
money.
The visit visa to Saudi Arabia
requires an applicant to be at least 18 years old, have a passport valid for at
least six months, have a residency ID from a GCC country valid for no less than
three months, separate visa applications for each member of the direct family,
and accompany their family members while entering the Kingdom.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia previously
announced that anyone having a flight ticket might get a free 96-hour admission
permit for the nation. The holder of the license might make the Haj and Umrah.
The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Tourism's action is anticipated to increase
tourism in the Kingdom by facilitating GCC citizens' access. As part of the
nation's overall efforts to diversify its economy and promote tourism, visa
regulations are being loosened.
