Qatar Airways has
announced plans to resume its scheduled non-stop flights between its Doha Hamad
International hub and Auckland Airport in New Zealand, which ceased operating
during the pandemic. This route was one of the world’s longest.
Using the Boeing 777-200LR, Qatar Airways first started nonstop service between Auckland and Doha in December 2016. On the other hand, the Airbus A350-1000 will be the preferred aircraft when the flights start up again on September 1st. According to CEO Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways is looking to gain connecting business.

weeks and enables passengers in key European markets, including the UK and
Ireland, to save time with this direct connection."
327 passengers are
travelling on Qatar Airways' Airbus A350-1000s, with 281 in economy class and 46
in business class. Passengers can enjoy more privacy in business class
cabins thanks to the QSuite product. With a block time of 15 hours and 55
minutes, the QR920 will leave Doha at 01:50 local time and arrive in Auckland
at 02:45 the following morning. Even longer, clocking up at 17 hours and 15
minutes in total is QR921. These flights, which will start running every day on
September 1st, offer significant discounts over what Qatar Airways is now
providing. Currently, the Doha-Auckland flights stop in Adelaide, Australia,
adding an additional 19 hours and 20 minutes to the total travel time. The
return journey takes 20 hours and 45 minutes.
Before the announcement of the nonstop flights, passengers who had already made reservations to fly on this route beginning in September will now be rebooked onto the new services. The nicest seats on the Airbus A350-1000s are in rows 11 and 12, which are isolated from rows 1 through 10, for QSuite passengers seeking a more exclusive experience. Couples can easily travel in the front row of each economy section since there are just two seats there instead of three in the outer sections.
