The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and
Ports Security (ICP) in the United Arab Emirates UAE has announced the introduction of fines for administrative
violations of Emirates ID cards, residency services, and foreigners'
affairs.
The fines, ranging from Dh20 to Dh20,000, aim to ensure compliance and streamline procedures and vary depending on the severity of the violation.
The 14 categories of violations that the International
Commission for Migration (ICP) has identified include obstructing ICP staff,
not cooperating, not paying for services, supplying inaccurate data, and
breaking work systems in service centres. If visas or entry permits are issued
to non-operational establishments, there are severe penalties that include a
Dh20,000 fine. Fines for violations vary from Dh5,000 to Dh3,000 and are
categorized according to their seriousness. In addition, there are penalties
for clients who do not pay for services rendered, for refusing to participate,
and for impeding ICP staff.
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs,
and Ports Security (ICP) has introduced new rules for Emirates ID cards,
imposing fines for various infractions. These include providing unauthorized
representatives' details and breaking work procedures. Incorrect application
forms can result in fines of Dh3,000 and Dh100. Non-renewal of Emirates ID
cards after 30 days can result in fines of Dh20 per day, up to Dh1,000.
However, the ICP has introduced exemptions for certain individuals, including
those deported or passport-seized, waiting for UAE citizenship, and those
outside the country for more than three months. Exclusions include prolonged
absences, deportation, pending legal matters, and pre-nationality issuing. The
ICP handled nearly 5 million residency transactions between January and October
2023, aiming to ensure efficient operations and promote adherence to rules.
