The temporary ban which was placed on TOEFL scores for visa applications by the Australian Department of Home Affairs (DHA), has now been lifted. A TOEFL iBT exam for English proficiency can now be submitted by foreign professionals and international students for their visa processing.
The TOEFL is a standardized test organized to test the English language ability of non-native speakers. It’s widely recognized by universities and institutions in every part of the world including all universities in Australia.
TOEFL scores were briefly stopped being accepted by the Australian Department of Home Affairs last July, but following a careful examination, they are now accepted as legitimate supporting evidence for visa applications.
All Australian universities, as well
as other non-native speakers, can assess non-native speakers' English language
competency using the internationally known TOEFL standardized test.
The TOEFL score can assist applicants achieve the English language criterion for Australian immigration and improve their visa application. Successful applicants must be able to integrate into Australian society.
The TOEFL iBT scores obtained on or
after May 5, 2024, will be the only ones accepted for consideration in visa
applications as the DHA has revived the test.
