Poland National Work Visa: Invitation Application Guide

Poland, a member of the European Union, offers attractive job opportunities for international professionals. To work in Poland, you'll need to obtain a work visa. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you navigate the process.

To work in Poland, there are three types of work visas you can apply for a Work Visa (Type D) for employment exceeding six months, a Temporary Work Visa (Type C) for employment up to six months, or a Seasonal Work Visa for seasonal work such as agriculture or tourism.

Requirements for Work Visa Application

To apply for a work visa, you'll need to provide a valid passport, a completed visa application form, a recent photo, a work permit issued by your Polish employer, an invitation letter from your employer, proof of health insurance, proof of financial means, and a police clearance certificate in some cases.

Invitation Letter Procedure

Your employer must obtain a work permit from the Polish Voivodeship Office and then issue an invitation letter to you. The invitation letter should include your employer's details, job offer, and your details.

Embassy Procedure and Timings

Once you have the invitation letter, you can submit your visa application to the Polish Embassy or Consulate. The application will be reviewed and processed within 15 days, and you may be required to attend an interview. The visa will be issued within 30 days, and you can enter Poland within six months of visa issuance.

Polish Embassy/Consulate Requirements

Before submitting your application, schedule an appointment with the Polish Embassy or Consulate and ensure you bring all required documents. You'll also need to pay a visa application fee, which is approximately €60-€100.

Timeline

The entire process typically takes 6-12 weeks. Work permit issuance takes 2-4 weeks, invitation letter issuance takes 1-2 weeks, and visa application processing takes 15-30 days.

Check the Polish Embassy or Consulate website for updates, ensure your employer provides the necessary documents, apply for a visa well in advance of your intended start date, and consider consulting with a relocation expert.
