South Africa has today October 1 reopened its borders to put an end to the international travel ban of over six months due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. 


The country is perhaps the most highly visited in the Southern region of Africa. South Africa's uniqueness starts from its number of capitals, which are three namely: Pretoria (executive), Bloemfontein (judicial), and Cape Town (legislative). South Africa is a state with a rich history and diverse cultures.

South African citizens are divided into four ethnic groups. The. Zulu, Bapedi, Batswana, Basotho, Xhosa, Swazi, Venda, Tsonga, South Ndebele and several others make up the largest ethnic group in South Africa.


The second group consists of the Afrikaans who have European roots; They are called the White South Africans. The Coloureds are another group that originated from the indigenous Khoisan and White settlers. The fourth group is the Asians who migrated to South Africa.

There are several places of interest and points of attraction in South Africa. The Kruger National Park at Mpumalanga and Limpopo districts is one of South Africa's most visited tourist sites. It is also one of the biggest game reserves in South Africa.

Some South African cities like Cape Town are also significant drivers of tourism in the country. There are many things to see, do, and go to these cities. Cape Town, for instance, is one of the most picturesque cities in the world. It sits between the sea and a wide range of mountains. It boasts of several attractions like the Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, which is a UNESCO Heritage Site found on the Table Mountain.

The Kgalagadi Trans-frontier Park in Northern Cape is a merge of Kalahari and Botswana Gemsbok National Park. This makes it one of the largest fauna sites in the world. It was established in 2000 and became Africa's first official Trans-frontier National Park. This park also houses the popular black-maned lion of Kalahari and various birds of prey.

Stellenbosch town is also another place you should add in your "to-visit" list when you are in South Africa. It is one of the best-preserved historic towns in South Africa since the Dutch East Indian Company era. You will find some great restaurants in South Africa in Stellenbosch Town offers palatable local and international cuisine.

At Stellenbosch town, you will also get to see the town's museum- Stellenbosch Village Museum made up of four restored gardens and houses. The Rupert Museum, where local artists display their works, is not left out. The University of Stellenbosch also has a botanical garden that houses rare and exotic flowers and plants.
