France is now open for all visitors to enter without Covid-19 entry requirements. The French Ministry of Interior announced the decision to abolish the COVID entry restrictions which have already taken effect.
All travelers are now able to enter France without needing to adhere to any COVID-related entry rules, and this has taken effect from August 1, 2022, There will no longer be a requirement for travelers to show a vaccination, recovery, or test certificate upon arrival. There will also be no need for travelers to offer a convincing argument to support their need to enter French territory.
The statement released by the Ministry states, “Faced
with the new phase of the pandemic, the border health control system is lifted,
in accordance with the law, putting an end to the exceptional regimes created
to fight against the epidemic linked to COVID-19. As a result, since August 1,
2022, the rules that previously applied to travelers to France no longer apply.”
All COVID restrictions for international travelers have been lifted, according to the French Ministry of Health, with the exception of the requirement that they agree to submit to testing or examination when they arrive in France. Authorities emphasized that if the virus poses a significant health hazard, the nation may reinstall the restrictions.
“In accordance with the law, the Government finally retains until January 31, 2023, the possibility of activating "emergency brake" measures for a maximum period of two months, after consulting the High Authority for Health in the event of an appearance and circulation of a new variant of covid-19 likely to constitute a serious health threat or, in overseas territories, in the event of a risk of saturation of the health system,” the Ministry added.
